I own a ranch 10 miles west of Stephan, SD or 5 miles north of north bend on the Missouri River. We had the monarchs in our trees over Labor Day Weekend in 2007!! It was absolutely unreal to see and feel!! The monarchs appeared on Saturday, September 1st. The reason I think you may be interested is it seems this is somewhat farther west than most of your maps show!!

Editor's Note: This observation was reported two years later, in Fall 2009. This observer did not specify the number of monarchs present, although the roost appears to have been very large.
