We have noticed several monarchs in our area over the past two weekends. The monarchs are not migrating but searching for food and the females are laying eggs on every milkweed plant they can find - several of the plants have multiple eggs. We have brought several into our classroom for the students to observe. We have several that have already formed a chrysalis, a lot of newly hatched larva and a lot of eggs. We will be tagging these monarchs as they emerge.
