Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/03/2009

Number: 1

We are still seeing hummingbirds every day but they are clearly not ours! These new, daily visitors give themselves away. Their unfamiliarity with our feeder is comical. They're not sure where to drink, and spend time investigating. Our summer hummers would zip in and out with incredible skill. It has been 10 days since we saw our last male, and 17 days since males were here regularly. We stopped seeing males regularly on August 17th. We saw a single male on August 22nd (5 days later) and another on August 23rd (6 days later). The last male spotted in our neighborhood was seen on August 31st, 3 days ago.
