Had hummers buzzing around like mad last week. They were so interested in protecting their food sources that they would occasionally find themselves just inches from us! Interesting that they were feeding as heavily on the grape jelly for the orioles as they were on the nectar! This week has backed off. Today had only 4-5 humming about. Still working over the grape jelly as much as the nectar, and they chase the bees and wasps away. Only saw one juvenile oriole today.
