Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/03/2009

Number: 1

There are now 3 hummingbirds coming at the same time to my feeders. I can tell some of the hummers seen today are new to my yard because it takes some trial and error for them to figure out the feeder ports, and they find the feeders only after visiting my impatiens flowers. Only females and immatures were seen today and yesterday. The adult females are looking quite fat now. I also noticed that some of the hummingbirds are noticably smaller overall, and I presume that they are younger immatures from later nests.
