Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/04/2009

Number: 1

After being innundated with male & female Ruby-throated hummingbirds regulars (about 20) at our seven feeders and perching in our trees during late spring and throughout the summer, the past week has seen a steady decline at our Sauble Beach, ON cottage . As of September 4, we're getting the occasional female (Only 5 different birds identified yesterday). Suspect the birds we're currently seeing are on the move from points north, as they are not familiar with the location of the feeders and appear to have to search them out. Typically at this time of year there are still many more hummingbirds in the area.
