Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/04/2009

Number: 1

Saw a female monarch nectaring in some roadside wildflowers around 4:30 pm. When I saw her, she flew away and I wasn't 100%sure she was a monarch. I've seen quite a few viceroys this summer. Luckily, she came back about 5 minutes later and I was able to determine that she was indeed a female monarch.

I have nearly 40 beautiful monarch cats that are newly pupated and a little over 15 gorgeous little catties that are nearly ready to do the same. They have gone completely through over 15 of my milkweed plants. I've nicknamed them my pirahnas as they eat so much :)
