Our little green gem is frantically feeding on deep pink petunias, red and purple verbena, and red and blue salvia in our hanging baskets. From her activity level, we expect her to be leaving soon; and especially since she stopped and perched on a branch of our hibiscus bush and remained very still for a moment; seeming to smile at us; unusual for a hummingbird. We interpreted that to mean she was saying good bye. We wished her a safe journey; told her we loved her; and that we hoped to see her next year.
