Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/07/2009

Number: 200

This evening, aprox 7:00 pm there was aproximately 100-200 monarchs in the maple and pear trees just south our home. We had seen several individual buterflies with in the past week or so but never this many at one time. We do have an alfalfa and clover field south of our resident as well as many milkweeds, goldenrod and zinneas around our residence.
