Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/04/2009

Number: 100

Our class saw between 30 and 40 butterflies on Friday, Sept. 4 at 12:15 P.M. They were flying and resting in the trees and on other plants (flowers). I have seen large numbers of butterflies in our trees for the past few years about this same time. Sunday evening there were about 100 there, and a couple branches were full of monarch butterflies. We saw a couple blue butterflies too. One student saw a yellow butterfly with purple markings. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and __20_ minutes.
