Our hummingbird population is still sizeable, about 25 birds still feeding heavily in the garden and at the feeders. Most activity is early am and late pm. Our peak this summer after the juvenile's fledged (July) was around 80 birds. Some of the birds we see now are also juveniles. This sighting is at my personal homeplace which is ideal hummingbird habitat: fields, woods with sapsuckers, live springs, diverse garden plantings and feeders regularly maintained.
