Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/08/2009

Number: 1

Editor's Note: Monarchs have roosted at this location in the past.
We are in contact the observer, and if/when a roost appears this fall it will be reported here.

Comments from the observer:

We have seen a few flying around..but none roosting yet that we have seen.
We are blessed to have about 15-20 Eastern Screech Owls in our trees this year. We had babies hatched in a pine by our deck. I am wondering if that or the occasional vultures would have anything to do with the lack of the monarchs this year. The weather has been strange .got pretty chilly here mid to low 40's a couple of weeks ago. We are watching and will keep you updated..they seem to love the sycamore and the mulberry trees.
