Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/10/2009

Number: 1

I still see two hummers at my feeders around my remaining flowers. A baby hummer landed for a second on the replacement feeder that I was hanging. It was a baby male as he was just getting a red spot on his throat. It was exciting to have him so close as he flitted around me for a second or two before geting courage to land for one little sip.
I keep thinking every day that they will have left as it has been cooler and cloudy.
I think the last one that I saw last year was around the first of Oct.
I have just joined and must be in the school section.
I'm an almost 84 yr. old grandmom ,so didn't fill in school or teacher.
