On a quick check on the new milkweed plants in a recently mowed field today I found 7 larvae in less than 7 minutes. They were in two sizes: small and medium...none ready to make a chrysalis any day soon. If the frosts are not early this fall, there will be another batch of Monarchs to fly south in 2-3 weeks.
