Comments from the observer:

We walked around our property last night (9/09) and I saw one lonely monarch lazily flying about. He was along the trees where we saw the ones last year and was checking out the goldenrod. Then he flew on over the garden south and was gone. I lost him.

Will keep watch and keep you posted.
