I discovered a total of five caterpillars on a milkweed plant I had planted fall 2008. 3 appear to be almost two inches, 2 are smaller in length and width. I thought seeing the caterpillars this late in the year was a bit unusual and worth recording. I did not see the female laying the eggs.
