Signs of Fall

Date: 09/19/2009

Number: 1

Monarchs are on the move south. Over 100 spotted going over Lake Brownwood today with even more going through DeLeon. As of Labor Day Weekend, the Scissortail Fly Catchers are gone south. This week, the hummingbirds left. Green acorns have begun to fall as the leaves are beginning to change. The Mesquite trees dropped their beans last month - they usually hold until the first part of October. I am curious as to what nature is trying to tell us. It will be interesting to see when the first flight of ducks come through and when the sandhill cranes get here for their winter roost.
