Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/20/2009

Number: 1

well there has been a change at our feeder. we were going thru about 1 cup every 4 days which ended fri 9/18/09. on the 18th a fresh cup was put in the feeder around 6pm (feeder almost empty)in prep for last feast before dark. no nectar taken fri eve nor all day sat 9/19/09 (nectar line never moved). today the 20th we observed 1 humming bird 2 different times around the noon hour. the nectar line moved down about 1/4" today. our feeder style is the common glass bottle type that narrows about 2" from the red base that has 4 yellow flwrs. it just so happens 1 1/4 cup nectar fills right to the narrow part. so todays amount of nectar taken would be 1/4" X 1 3/4" dia. we seen no more hummers today and no more nectar was taken today after 2pm. for the record sunrise/sunset on 9/18/09 was 7:04/7:28. our area was under a high pressure system and have been no weather fronts
