we live in Arlington, VA and planted milkweed seedlings sold at a nature center back in April - 2 types - one with flowers - one with leaves where we now see the eggs and the caterpillars from the Monarchs. my question - I planted 4 sets of these plants - the butterflies only laid eggs on 2 of the 6 - there were some discolored leaves on teh other plants - do you think they avoided those plants because of some disease? We will plant more next year - very happy we've had success -thought we were too far East.
