Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/21/2009

Number: 1

We have had over 100 Ruby Throats draining our feeders for the past week. The 4 large feeders are empty each day when we get home and we refill them then. Saturday the 19th there were the most we had seen and Sunday we were only seeing about half as many. Today the numbers are down to about only 20+ Rubies. We are only a few miles from the Gulf, so I guess they have migrated. It seems early compared to last year, but maybe there are several groups that migrate thru our yard. We just moved here last year and put feeders out starting about September 22nd and had ~75 Rubies visit then. Can anyone tell me when they usually ALL leave this area. Email @ lojsmith@bellsouth.net
