I was shocked as I saw NO MONARCH Butterflies at all this year...not a one...we did have an unusally wet July...late in August I began looking for Monarch caterpillars for school and found only 2...other teachers found about 8 together...I have combed many milkweed plants this past month and nothing...last year I located 105 Monarch caterpillars between mid-August and September 7th...I have tagged 6 caterpillars and we have 2 still to open...we let 5 go before school began...I wonder if other Northern areas saw many or any Monarch Butterflies this year?
