Signs of Fall

My Phoebes have long flown South, but this morning, I was awakened to their familiar, raspy phoebe....phoebe call! I was stunned, and ran to grab my binoculars. Sure enough, there were two beautiful specimens, hawking insects from high up in the tree canopy! Obviously, they are migrating through the area, and have stopped in temporarily. What a treat!
Yesterday afternoon, I was thrilled to observe 3 huge flocks of mixed blackbirds and starlings filling the skies with their tumbling, skydiving aerobatics!
