I am wondering if the peak migration for my latitude happened earlier than normal. I have not seen any monarchs since the end of August. Over the summer I raised 23 monarchs inhouse, bringing in the cats when I found them on the milkweed. I tagged them (through Monarch Watch) and released the last ones on September 12. On a side note I saw very few black swallowtails this summer and did not see one tiger swallowtail and I only had one painted lady in the gardens this summer.........what is happening with the butterfly populations?
