When I last wrote my observations, it was only a day or two and the vast majority of my hundred or so hummers went south. It was during a week long cold spell and I guess they couldn't handle the chill in the air. But, there are 3 or maybe 5 hummers that just keep hanging around! The feeders are still up in 2 different locations (one in the yard and one on the back deck). They prefer to use one of the 3 feeders on the deck because, I think, of all the plants available for them for cover. We've had heavy rains the last 2 days but they are still here. Go figure!
