Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/21/2009

Number: 1

I had not seen a hummer at my feeder for close to a week but yesterday afternoon I spotted one feeding at the back of our yard where a neighbor has a tame honeysuckle vine that is in bloom. About 15 minutes later it came to one of my 3 feeders and stayed to eat about 3 or 4 minutes. It was a small female ruby throated hummer. What a treat - I thought they were all gone and I had said earlier in the day that I probably should take down my feeders. I will now leave them a few days longer.
