This is my second year feeding hummingbirds,in Baton Rouge,La. I only had 2 or 3 at a time last year. Well, Sept. 13 I had many more, probably about two dozen at 2 feeders. This lasted about 2 days, and now my count is down. As of today, I still have 3 - 5 every day. I have a window feeder and have been able to view up close, and I am fascinated with the hummers. I am learning via the internet hummer sites how to identify them. I was able to spot a red "dot" on the neck of some, and was informed these are male juveniles. This is awesome! They seem to prefer the window feeder (yea) over the feeder hanging in the tree nearby. I am sharing all this with my g.children and I send them an update and picture every day on the internet.
