We have several adult Monarchs in our Riverside, California garden (including females) since we grow a number of milkweed plant types including Asclepias fasculata and A. curasavica. Today I counted 7 larvae on A. fasculata. In addition, while working at the University (UCR) Botanical Gardens (1-2 miles away) I counted 14 Monarch larvae on A. curasavica plants. I had to take the larvae home since there wouldn't be any plants for the Oct. plant sale. We sell milkweed plants to encourage people to have monarch friendly gardens.
