This report is for a sighting of 18 Monarchs at Richland Balsam Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway - Mile Marker 431 - Elevation 6053 feet.

Weather: Cloudy with intermittent glimpses of the sun. External Temp - 64 degrees. Nectar source: New England Aster - Time: 5:30 pm

This is NOT a count of all the Monarchs in the area at the time we were watching. They were all OVER the place and some were seen aloft as well as all down the mountainside. This is the highest elevation on the Blue Ridge Parkway Motorway.
