One lone Monarch flying south, traveling along the ground, into the southerly breeze. The last three weeks have been summerlike here, with temperatures 10-20 degrees above normal. Late hatches have had a chance. Winds have not been favorable for migration, though.......mostly south winds have forced ground based travel. Wind is supposed to shift to the northwest at 20 mph later today as a strong cold front moves in. If it happens early enough in the day, look for a final wave of Monarchs from northern Wisconsin, Minnesota, and the Dakotas. Good luck looking..........
