Today I have noticed many Monarchs on my block, so I knew they had arrived in Big Lake for this migration season. I drove around and noticed a large gathering on 12th and Ohio Street. Decided to look at cemetery, this has been a resting spot for the Monarchs for several years now. The trees were loaded, hundreds of Monarchs. It is magical. My observation time: I was watching for 1 hours and 15 minutes.
Editor’s Note: We are estimating a minimum of 200 monarchs based on observer’s estimate of “hundreds.”
