Egg laying is still underway at Choctaw Trails in southwest Jackson, Mississippi. 31 fresh eggs and a few larvae (including 2, 3rd instars) were collected this afternoon, 27 September 09. We have been collecting eggs and rearing monarchs locally since mid-August. The first adult was tagged and released on 15 September; 7 were tagged and released this afternoon. No sign of migration activity in the area.
