I noticed a pair of ruby-throat hummingbirds in my yard in early sept.09.
We had a long dry spell & my spring flowers died out early so I cut my rose bushes back.Early one morning I heard a noise at my kitchen door & went to investigate.When I opened the inner door,there was the male hovering in front of my face just outside the outer glass door.I had the idea that he was asking for food so went to a google search to find out how to do that.
I bought a feeder & put it on the porch.When the pair of birds came to the feeder,they brought a couple of youngsters with them.The adults left about 3 or 4 days ago & left the young ones here.I am now enjoying them until they decide to leave.
