The front has finally arrived, bringing cooler, drier air and good winds from the N/NE. The sun was strong today, broken up by intermittent cloud cover throughout the day. A beautiful day up top.

September 24
Lots of Monarchs (43)
Observer Hours: 8
Another humid one, the cold front getting closer. Clouds built all day, pushed by the NW winds. Late day front approached, bringing unstable air and stronger winds.

Near half as many monarchs as raptors today (14).
Observer Hours: 7
Oppressive humidity all day long, exaggerated by the weak S/SW winds. A low cloud ceiling most morning, breaking up some in the afternoon. Haze all day cut down on visibility.

Winds light and from the southeast today. An extremely still, humid day with a solid blanket of clouds covering the sky. A few breaks of sun in the afternoon, with clouds soon building again in the north and west. Temps reaching 27C.

Monarchs passed in good numbers (30)
Observer Hours: 9
Clear, a cloudless sky all day with winds from the NE around 8mph. Temps reached 24 C at their highest. Those blue skies had our eyes burning for sure!
