The monarchs have missed me or I've missed them this year. I have not seen any noticeable numbers roosting in my trees unless they were here earlier and I wasn't watching. It's disappointing. I've read on the website about the variation in migrating routes this fall, so I guess they just aren't coming through southwest Iowa.

I think this is the first time in all the years I've been aware of monarch migration that I haven't seen at least a few overnighting in our trees.
