Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/01/2009

Number: 50

A friend just called to say he was surrounded by monarchs in a wildflower field. When he got to the site where he is working it was just after dawn and the temperature was 42. He said since, it has warmed to the upper 50's and there are monarchs "everywhere". He estimates "at least" 50 are busy nectaring. He must have been near their roost site for last night.
