Symbolic Monarchs (Sent)

Date: 10/01/2009

Number: 1

The students in Miss B's kindergarten class made monarchs with yellow and orange shapes. Mrs. Hathaway, our librarian, told us about the monarch butterfly and how it flies to Mexico each year. That is a long way for them to go.
We saw where the butterflies, real and symbolic, will stay during the winter. We read the book, The Hungry Caterpillar and we are making a book about butterlies. We will await the arrival of the butterlies in the spring.
Gracias por cuidar a las mariposas monarcas este invierno, de parte de sus vecinos del norte.
