Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/04/2009

Number: 1

Still a lot of activity at our feeders and in the perennial bed. The hummers LOVE our Pineapple Sage plant. I can always find a few hovering in the area. The front feeder is being drained quickly. Our resident female ruby throat is still "on guard" protecting "her" feeder, and all flowers in the area, on our deck. This weekend I did notice that she allowed a few friends in for a short snack but then she chased them away. I think she burns off all the energy she's getting from the nectar with her constant aerial attacks!
