Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/04/2009

Number: 1

Editor's Note: Monarchs have roosted at this location in the past.
We are in contact the observer, and if/when a roost appears this fall it will be reported here.

Comments from the observer:

I've had only singleton Monarchs so far - no roost, but I'll keep watching. We've had lots of rain over the last 4 weeks so do finally have some nectar plants blooming. That's been my only rain since March and April so plants and blooms have been scare this summer. Interestingly, we're seeing lots of eggs on newly emerged milkweed, which we don't normally see a lot of this time of year. I do have a few Queens but not nearly as many as usual so don't think they can account for all those eggs.
