Signs of Fall

Date: 10/07/2009

Number: 1

Observations from a home school class:

"I saw a flock of geese flying southwest for the winter, and then about an hour later I saw another flock flying west and then they curved north. The leaves are turning beautiful colors. They are really beautiful! It is chilly, and we need to wear our coats. There are buds on the tree branches that have fallen. The squirrels are coming out and we are seeing a lot of nut shells on the ground."
(Mitchell, age 6)

"I saw a whole bunch of birds flying south for the winter. They were Robins I think. Our neighbors saw three Cardinals flying southeast earlier today."
