It was a beautiful Fall day in Anchorage, with temperatures in the lower 50s. My class of 21 students planted 96 tulip bulbs, 48 each Red Emperor and Golden Emperor. They were purchased locally at Fred Meyer and packaged by a company called The Joy of Gardening. Several years ago I had trouble ordering tulips by mail and was disappointed that they never arrived.
