Sunday evening we received 6-8" of snow Sunday evening and tree limbs were broken all over town. Tuesday morning it was 8 degrees, I was sitting by the computer when I saw something fly by the window, and then my husband who was outside started motioning. Sure enough it was a hummingbird. Shawn ran in and brought 2 feeders with him. We started making hummingbird nectar and I took out my Gartenmeister Fuchsia pot I had brought in for the winter. He came and feed from the plant and went around feeding from the frozen, Hummingbird pots. Which use to contain, Black & Blue Salvia, Red Salvia, Perennial Zauschneria, Perennial Agastache, and Perennial Petite Monarda. I never did see Him eat from the feeders. We saw Him one other time frantically feeding and then He apparently was strong enough to continue on with His migration. We have never seen a Hummingbird, this late in the season in Riverton, Wyoming. So keep your feeders out, there is still one coming from the middle of Wyoming.
