Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 10/08/2009

Number: 1000

ON our morning walk thru the Rio Concho park, an estimated 1000+ (maybe in the Lower thousands?) Monarch butterflies were getting off early this morning. Several trees had concentrated clusters on several isolated branches. When we walked underneath, maybe 20% of them would take to flight.
