Our final sighting was one little fat hummer around 5:30 on Wed. eating very steady. He just sat on the feeder and drank and drank. No one to chase him away. He was all puffed up because the weather has been getting so cool. I filled my feeders with fresh very sweet food a few days before for him and any stragglers and the final bees of the year also. We've had heavy rains, 3-4 inches plus and winds since then and I haven't seen him since but I'm still watching. It's 11:00 am on Friday the 9th now and rains have finally stopped so we'll keep an eye out.
