I am not even sure which kind hummingbird it was,it was against the sun and all I saw was a silhouette of the bird..we've already had several nights of below freezing and frost on the pumpkins in the mornings! So I think that might have been the last hummer we see this year.But we will keep the feeder up for awhile longer, just encase...note...my mother in law, who lives just a couple of miles from us, says she has at least one or two hummers that stay year round..at least one would perch above her porch light at night to keep warm..this year I plan on getting some pictures to verify if it happens again..I corrected the date of the last hummer we saw.l.I had put last month..it was this month ...10/06/09 sorry about that
