The Kindergarten and First Grade students raised and released over 100 monarch butterflies to make the long journey to Mexico this fall. We have a butterfly garden with milkweed and nectar plants and we are certified as a Monarch Waystation. Every student in our school (Grades K,1,2,3,4,5, and 6) made a symbolic monarch to send. Our message to the children in Mexico is:
"Thank you for taking caring of the monarch butterflies this winter. Gracias por cuidar a las mariposa monarcas este invierno."
