A Hummingbird female and, no doubt, the juveniles she raised here this summer, are still visiting our feeders. We also spot them gleaning insects from plants and feeding on the blooms still available in our Life Lab Garden on the Lourdes College Campus. Today was no exception and around the time a visiting field class released a very healthy female Monarch we had raised at the Lab, the summer hummers were again feeding. Student's parents who often accompany a field class, have remarked they are still noticing some hummingbird activity in their neighborhoods or at their parent's (grandparent's)yard who gardens and/or regularly fills a feeder. In addition, for the last two weeks we have been hearing from some of the College staff that they have spotted a Monarch Butterfly overhead while walking on campus.
