I've been out of town and just received the report from MLMP@CNC monitoring on Oct. 10.
An AMAZING number of monarch larvae, far more than we have ever seen before at any time of year!!!
Examined 104 milkweeds.
Found:

Monarch instars:
6 first
6 second
3 third
2 fourth
2 fifth
Queen instars:
2 first
1 second
1 fifth
