We planted our Red Emperor tulip bulbs 7" deep in a trench with 2 channels. We covered them with dirt. It rained the next day. We will watch out the window to see if squirrels are interested in these bulbs. We will cover them with leaf mulch when the ground freezes. It will be a long time here in WI until they bloom.
