Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/13/2009

Number: 1

While birding on Plum Island, at Sandy Hook, N.J. I encountered at least 9 monarchs during the morning, from 10A.M, to 12:30, P.M.
I say at least 9 because whhile there may have been more, or i saw the same one(s) over and over, I had 10 roosting on a fir tree at once during a period of cloudiness.
They dispersed soon after the sun came back out, and nectared on the Goldenrod growing wild.
