We did not water the soil after we planted our tulips because the soil was already moist from the rain that fell during the night and previous day. Each student recieved a tulip bulb to plan and implament an experiment, and we planted several control tulips for students to compare their results. Both the soil temperature and the air temperature was 7 degrees Celcius. The weather at 8:30 when we planted was cool, cloudy, and damp.
